For our client Boskalis Offshore Norway we managed the repair of the dynamic positioned fallpipe vessel "Sandpiper" we made up the repair list including the budget and supervised the repair at MWB shipyard in Bremerhaven (Germany), after the repair the financial handling with yard and subcontractors completed, a final report including recommendations prepared for the upcoming repair period.
Below is a brief overview of the works carried out.
• Special survey carried out DNV classification.
• 130 tons of steel replaced such as shell plating, frames, tank top and deck plating.
• Removal of 3 deck cranes and 2 excavators and installation of a new excavator.
• Installation of a new bridge between hold no. 2 & 3 for the new excavator.
• Repairs on main engine, auxiliary engines and various winches.
• Repairs to the stone transport system.
• Various electrical repairs including replacing the power cables of thruster No.1 & 2.
• Overhauled the lower gearboxes of thruster No. 2 & 4 for this we have lifted the thrusters out of the vessel total weight each thruster 80 ton.
